Date
2023
Location
Manchester, People's History Museum
Role
Composer, sound designer and co-creator
Self, Sense, Space was a 4-day creative residency led by formidable interdisciplinary artist Nwando Ebizie. The project explored and celebrated access as a creative practice.
Part of our gender equality initiative All Things Equal, the residency brought together a group of D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent artists from different disciplines including composers, animators, textile artists and theatre makers.
Based at People's History Museum, they collaborated to create new work inspired by the museum's landmark exhibition Nothing About Us Without Us, which explored the history of disabled people’s activism and ongoing fight for rights and inclusion.
On the final evening, their creations were showcased at a multi-sensory public installation.
Charlotte collaborated with folk musician Elena Piras to create a 12-speaker surround sound installation in the theatre incorporating lighting deist and live performance exploring multi-sensory disabled experiences of wayfaring.
